I would vote for Barrack OBama

Obama is doing well and I think that he and I agree on the issues more than anyone else.

McCain - Too Old and Out of Touch to Be President

For years, McCain has wanted to be President. Not to help Americans and make a real difference. He... LIKE BUSH, Just wants to BE President to satisfy his own EGO. This is his dream... and it will be America's Nightmare if he get's elected. As bad as Bush, maybe worst. Half of the people in the US realizes this, unfortunately the other half don't.

Obama - Too young, inexperienced and liberal to be President

For years Obama has wanted to be President. Read his book. He certainly intends to make a real difference in America. He is the most liberal in the Senate and his vice-presidential candidate is #3. An America in Obama's image is fundamentally a communist America where the state controls everything and gives everyone a free lunch. Half of the US realizes this, unfortunately, the other half doesn't.

Come on Dave, how can you

Come on Dave, how can you look at the current administration and really want 8 more years of this crap? Maybe Obama is a Liberal, so what, at least he wont be pushing the bush agenda.. Obama has some good ideas on how to fix things, and run this country.. McCain on the other hand will just follow the current agenda and screw us even more..

Plus, I am really concerned about his choice of a running mate, the woman is obviously a puppet, and has not brains of her own.. I watch her talk and I think, oh my god, what a freaking idiot.. a 5th grader could be dropped in her place, and no one would know the difference..

We need to stop voting for the party, and vote for the person, right now to me Obama looks like a much better choice over McCain. Maybe not the perfect choice, but a better choice.

With much regret, that's how.

Steve,

As I told my sister recently. "I'm glad you have a candidate you feel happy to vote for. For me, it is really a choice between two evils. "

I can choose Barack Obama, whose policies call for the "redistribution of wealth", which to me sure sounds a lot like communism. That didn't work too well for the Soviets. Senator Obama is of the opinion that government is the cure for the ills we face, while I believe that in most cases, the government is the problem. I believe that we need to return to government to the basic foundations outlined in the constitution instead of continuing to expand its power as Senator Obama favors.

Or, I can choose John McCain, who doesn't seem to be able to decide what he is. While he claims to be a conservative, he has been part of too many bills where he crossed over with the Democratic party to implement policies I thought were mistakes for my comfort. He certainly has experience on his side and he is without a doubt a genuine war hero. He has made a reputation for fighting earmarks (pork barrel spending) and that is something I can respect. But I am concerned about his environmentalist streak.

I wish I had a conservative candidate that I could feel as excited about as you and my sister are about Senator Obama. Unfortunately, I don't. Of the two candidates, to me the clearly less evil choice is voting for John McCain.

As for Governor Palin, I don't think that you and my sister are giving her a fair shake. You don't get to be the Governor of a state by bring a puppet without brains. I'm not even sure how you get to be a Mayor or City Councilman by being a brainless puppet. She is clearly a smart woman who was completely unprepared for the position in which she found herself, running for Vice President with only days of warning. Senator Obama, Senator Biden and Senator McCain on the other hand have had their eyes on the Presidency for years. Given those years of preparation, it isn't surprising that they appear more prepared. Frankly, I find that fact refreshing. I think the last thing we need is another career politician in the White House.

I'd put Governor Palin up against Senator Biden any day. How many times does Senator Biden need to say that you can't work in a convenience store without a slight Indian accent or that you just need to walk into the restaurant that's been closed for 15+ years before you start to have doubts about him? He seems to think that riding the Amtrak into work every day for nearly $100 a day makes him an "average Joe". I think it is unfortunate that Senator Biden and most Washington insiders are completely out of touch with the average middle class person. They've spent so long in politics that they believe they "know better" than everyone else.

Steve, which of Senator Obama's policy positions do you find the most appealing? Or at this point are you part of the "anyone but Bush" crowd? My fear is that some people are voting for Senator Obama simply because he is the "anti-Bush" but without any specific policies in mind that make the Senator an attractive Presidential candidate.

I'm not a fan of President Bush either. While I think he did a good job right after September 11th, in the subsequent years he has abandoned his conservative roots and spent like a liberal Democrat. While he made some noises about reforming Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, he didn't raise the alarm either. He signed the $700B bailout plan. He's just as guilty as his Republican and Democratic peers in the Congress for what has happened to our financial system.

Fortunately, President Bush isn't running. I don't believe it is fair to tie Senator McCain to President Bush's policies. Like most people, they agree on some things and disagree on others. They're not the same person.

I take hope in the fact that President Carter brought us Ronald Reagan. I'm hopeful that if Senator Obama wins the presidency, in four years enough people will be fed up with a Democrat in the White House that we'll get a real conservative in 2012.

Okay just for the record, I

Okay just for the record, I am not an Obamabot, or a zealot or any other type of political fan boy :) I know Obama is not the cure for everything, I just happen to think of the two evils, he is the lesser.. But this is based on my 'liberal' views. :) For the record, I voted for Bush Sr.. but not Jr.. I never regretted my vote in either case. Just so you can understand, that I do not vote for the party, I vote for the man..

It's hard to just pin point one view that I agree with, but reading a lot about what this man has said, and done really impresses me.. He seems to be a real thought ful man, who really has the interest of the country and the people at heart.. I do not get that impression from McCain.. Call it bad energy from McCain, or just a gut feeling.. It's just not there.. War hero or not.. By the way, I've known war heroes before, it's something to respect, but not something to base leadership on.

Check this site out http://www.barackobama.com/issues/ read about the issues, and how he stands on it, I read this stuff and I feel like this man thinks like I do, at least on most issues.. I'm not 100% on some of them.. and still no clear on the health care issues.. But I like the way he thinks, and if he does become president, I think we will see change, and I think it will be good change. I do not think we are going the route of communism, that's a word republicans like to toss around to scare people.. FUD is what they call it..

I have never been a fan of President Bush, he has always come off as a frat boy to me, and I have never felt he has taken is position seriously.. It's sad that the leader of our country is such a moron. I used to be proud of the presidential position, now it shames me.. I used to stand up for our policies and the war, now when I talk to my foreign buddies, I just keep my mouth shut when the subject comes up.. Once in a while I pipe in with a 'I didn't vote for him' or 'That election was rigged..*sigh*'

Who knows if Obama or McCain will bring back the dignity we need as a nation, it's hard to tell.. Maybe it will happen, maybe not.. McCain is old, and his age and health is showing.. Obama is young and naive, and it shows too.. Palin, I still stand behind the fact she is a puppet, and her strings are being pulled.. And YES people are elected into the positions she has held, and anyone with a good speech writer can get elected into these positions, because people are easily fooled. Look how quickly we went to Iraq over claims of WMDs.. See how we are still there, even after Sadam was captured? Because the masses are easily fooled.

Maybe we are being fooled again, maybe those who are really in control know exactly what they are doing, and are manipulating the public through the media.. Not enough people will check facts, they will read a random blog, and base their opinions on what the author wrote.

Anyways, I promised my self I would not ramble on in this reply, and I already broke that promise :)
