Today is my 16th Anniversary
Wow, 16 years. It is hard to believe. I am the luckiest, most blessed man in the world. My wife is awesome! I can't even imagine why she is still hanging out with me. She could have done so much better.
Dang, we were a cute couple.
It was really crazy in the days right up before the wedding. I had a side job wiring a doctor's office in Cloverdale that turned into a huge project. Since we were planning a two-week honeymoon, I was in a frantic rush to get the wiring project done before the wedding. Our wedding was Saturday, but I think I worked Thursday and then worked on that wiring project Thursday evening. In hindsight, I would have taken about a week off beforehand I think.
We spent an incredible two weeks in Mexico for our honeymoon with a week in Puerto Vallarta and a week in Playa del Carmen. We knew that with 3 kids at home at the time that we'd probably never have so many people volunteering to watch the kids for 2 weeks. We had to take advantage of it.
Saturday we're commemorating that trip with a road trip to Nevada, Idaho, Washington and Oregon with our two youngest children. With the last two kids getting to their teenage years Grace and I figured we didn't have too many years left for "family vacations", so we're taking this trip. It won't be quite the same as our Mexico trip, but we're looking forward to it none the less.
Today is also exciting because Ian is completing the 8th grade and will have his graduation ceremony tonight. For added coolness, since I'm on the school board, I'll have the chance to hand him his diploma. And since I'm the clerk of the board this year, my signature will even be on the diploma. That's kind of cool.
Anyway, this is a great way to celebrate these last 16 years. Thank you Grace!
